Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $20,000 to Senior Connections (formerly Navidad Valley Community Connections).Monies granted will fund asbestos abatement in the Schulenburg facility recently purchased to house the organization’s growing membership.

The Gardenia E. JanssenAnimal Shelter hours of operation are as follows: open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday for all normal operations. On Monday, the shelter is closed to the public but staff is on-site for animal care from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Combined CommunityAction’s “Meals on Wheels,” located at First Baptist Church, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Meals should be ordered two weeks in advance and will be delivered to the homebound, or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.

Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $5,500 to the League of Women Voters of South Central Texas. Monies granted fund the 16-page nonpartisan voter guide for the constitutional amendment election on Nov. 4.
