As of Aug. 29, total intake for 2025 at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 1,238 – 514 dogs and 724 cats in need.As of Aug. 29, the shelter had 153 animals in its care – 52 dogs and 101 cats.

CCA Meals

Combined CommunityAction’s “Meals on Wheels,” located at First Baptist Church, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Meals should be ordered two weeks in advance and will be delivered to the homebound, or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.

As of Friday, Aug. 22, total intake for 2025 at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 1,207 – 508 dogs and 699 cats in need.As of Friday, Aug. 22, the shelter had 138 animals in its care – 50 dogs and 88 cats.
