Habitat ReStore, Fayette County Habitat for Humanity’s resale shop, is now open every Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.The store, located at 825 N. Main St. in Schulenburg, offers a wide range of affordable home improvement items, furniture and building materials.

Moulton Catholic Church to hold picnic Sept. 21

Fr. Gabriel Maison and the parishioners of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Moulton invite everyone to their annual parish picnic on Sunday, Sept. 21 at the St. Joseph Social Center on the church grounds.The celebration will begin with Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Animal Shelter statistics

As of Sept. 5, total intake for 2025 at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 1,261 – 521 dogs and 740 cats in need.As of Sept. 5, the shelter had 128 animals in its care – 55 dogs and 73 cats.

Combined CommunityAction’s “Meals on Wheels,” located at First Baptist Church, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Meals should be ordered two weeks in advance and will be delivered to the homebound, or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.
