Local Food Pantry serves 155 families during July

The Schulenburg Area Food Pantry served 155 families in July with a total of 515 individuals. The Pantry had three new clients with 12 individuals in those families. The amount of food given out was 9,495 pounds. Food donated was 3,098 pounds. The volunteer hours were 385.

As of Aug. 8, total intake for 2025 at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 1,137 – 489 dogs and 648 cats in need.As of Aug. 8, the shelter had 153 animals in its care – 56 dogs and 97 cats.

Stevens Chapel Vacation Bible School set Aug. 2

Vacation Bible School (VBS) at Stevens Chapel United Methodist Church will be held on Saturday, Aug. 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.Faith stories, arts and crafts, music and a light lunch will be provided.This is a one-day event for participants of all generations.
