Habitat to hold home blessing for Wright family

Fayette County Habitat for Humanity invites the public to celebrate a joyful milestone as the Wright family receives the keys to their new home in the Hope Hill neighborhood of La Grange.A special home blessing ceremony will be held on Friday, May 30 at 6 p.m. at 201 EsperanzaAve., La Grange.

Two knowledgeable guides shared the story. The tour ended at the Gonzales Memorial Museum, where everyone gathered to view one of the “Come & Take It”cannons and many fascinating displays.

Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $10,000 to the Schulenburg Area Food Pantry. Monies granted will be used to build a concrete ramp on the west side of the Pantry leading out to the parking lot. This ramp will be used to bring food donations in and out of the building.

Six Fayette County elementary schools recently received an illustrated book, Texas: Before the Lone Star, that will provide a valuable tool for teachers teaching about what was happening in Texas from the 1600s through just before the Battle of the Alamo.
