Animal Shelter statistics

The Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter started 2025 with 98 animals in its care.There just doesn’t seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel as the shelter kicks off a new year. As of Jan. 17, total intake for 2025 stood at 75 – 33 dogs and 42 cats in need. As of Jan.

Wild Game Supper & Big Buck Contest ResultsA wild game supper will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Hallettsville KC Hall, with the doors opening at 5 p.m. Crawfish, deer, duck, hog, birds, chili, sausage, duck gumbo, beans, wild rice, etc. will be served.Hall admission of $13 includes the meal.
