Sr. Connections: exciting week ahead for active seniors

The week ahead at the Senior Connections activity centers promises to be filled with engaging activities, delicious meals and enriching experiences for seniors in Schulenburg, Flatonia and Weimar. With a variety of events planned, there is something for everyone to enjoy!

Turtle Wing Toast set Jan. 23 at Sengelmann

Turtle Wing Foundation’s annual Toast event is slated for Thursday, Jan. 23 at Sengelmann Hall (upstairs) in Schulenburg.Doors will open and cocktail hour will begin at 6 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. The program will begin at 7 p.m.

FUNERAL NOTICE - Mary Ann Kutac (June 13, 1945-Jan. 12, 2025)

Funeral services for Mary Ann Kutac, age 79, of Schulenburg will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia.The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. with the Parish Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. from the church.

Local Food Pantry serves 151 families in December

The Schulenburg Area Food Pantry served 151 families in December with a total of 491 individuals. The Pantry had two new clients with a total of three individuals. The amount of food given out was 10,825 pounds. Food donated was 3,742 pounds. The volunteer hours were 316.
