American Legion McBride Post 143 and Auxiliary Unit will hold their annual Christmas party on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the American Legion Home in Wolters Park.Social will start at 6 p.m. followed by the meal and awards presentation at 7 p.m.Dress is casual with Legionnaire cap.

The shelter always has a high number of bully breeds. Staff is constantly socializing them and teaching basic commands and manners. Many would make great pets. If you’ve considered adding a bully breed to your household, please consider adopting a fully-vetted, pre-screened shelter bully!

CCA Meals

Combined CommunityAction’s “Meals on Wheels,” located at First Baptist Church, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Meals should be ordered two weeks in advance and will be delivered to the homebound, or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.

Welcome November – let the holiday season begin. Senior Connections hopes everyone has a festive Halloween and asks everyone to mark their calendars for two holiday events with Senior Connections.The Thanksgiving celebration will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at the KC Hall in Schulenburg.

Habitat Home Supply hours

Fair Assn. presents donations to three organizations

At the Fayette County Fair Association’s October membership meeting, checks were presented to the nonprofit organizations that sponsored Queen contestants this past year. The Fayette County Fair Association awarded $7,072.50 to three organizations.

Animal Shelter statistics

As of Oct. 25, total intake at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 1,357 for the year – 609 dogs and 748 cats in need.As of Oct. 25, the shelter had 117 animals in its care – 42 dogs and 75 cats.
