What’s happening at Senior Connections

Senior Connections plans to start the week with a laugh. Thanks to Fayette County Community Theater, the play “Four Old Broads” is at the historic Casino Hall in La Grange. The sold-out matinee performance on Sunday, Oct. 27 has 20-plus Senior Connections members attending.

Combined CommunityAction’s “Meals on Wheels,” located at First Baptist Church, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Meals should be ordered two weeks in advance and will be delivered to the homebound, or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.

As of Oct. 18, total intake at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 1,331 for the year – 595 dogs and 736 cats in need.As of Oct. 18, the shelter had 105 animals in its care – 38 dogs and 67 cats.

The Bible opens up with this magnificent declaration, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). This answers a lot of questions. John Wesley states, “The opening verse of the Bible is better than a thousand books on philosophy”. I so agree.
