Animal Shelter statistics

As of Aug. 16, total intake at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 1,057 for the year – 456 dogs and 601 cats in need.As of Aug. 16, the shelter had 109 animals in its care – 48 dogs and 61 cats.

CCA Meals

Combined CommunityAction’s “Meals on Wheels,” located in the Civic Center, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Meals should be ordered two weeks in advance and will be delivered to the homebound, or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.

The shelter always has a high number of bully breeds. Staff is constantly socializing them and teaching basic commands and manners. Many would make great pets. If you’ve considered adding a bully breed to your household, please consider adopting a fully-vetted, pre-screened shelter bully!

The St. Anne’s Society of St. Mary’s Church in High Hill celebrated its anniversary Mass on Sunday, July 28.

Sr. Connections: gathering place for active seniors

So many wonderful things are happening at Senior Connections it’s almost hard to keep up! Several gifts have been received recently.The first is a grant from the Anderson Foundation for $10,000.
