Animal Shelter statistics

As of July 26, total intake at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 979 for the year – 416 dogs and 563 cats in need.As of July 26, the shelter had 145 animals in its care – 72 dogs and 73 cats.

This little brother/sister duo are part of a litter of eight. They were brought in at a very young age without their mom. The shelter staff and volunteers have made sure these puppies got the best start possible in life. They are ready to find families of their own.

Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $1,500 to Schulenburg American Legion Post 143. Monies donated will be used as part of the Memorial Day flag fund through which flags are placed on the graves of veterans in 12 cemeteries in the Schulenburg area.

CCA Meals

Combined CommunityAction’s “Meals on Wheels,” located in the Civic Center, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Meals should be ordered two weeks in advance and will be delivered to the homebound, or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.
