Local Food Pantry serves 122 families during April

The Schulenburg Area Food Pantry served 122 families inApril with a total of 331 individuals. The Pantry had four new clients with a total of nine individuals. The amount of food given out was 6,661 pounds. Food donated was 2,176 pounds. The volunteer hours were 315.

The beautiful month of May is bursting with the gorgeous flowers in full bloom, and the Schulenburg Public Library has some awesome gardening and landscaping books, so stop by and check one out.

CCA Meals

Combined CommunityAction’s “Meals on Wheels,” located in the Civic Center, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound.Please call 979-743-4036 two weeks in advance for the meals, which will be delivered to the homebound or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.

Second Chance donations area closed May 27

The donations drop-off area at Second Chance Emporium will be closed on Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day.Second Chance, 841 South Reynolds, La Grange, is a resale store serving all of Fayette County. For more, visit www.secondchanceemporium. org.
