St. Rose Altar Society holds meeting on Jan. 22

The St. Rose Altar Society held its monthly meeting on Monday Jan. 22 in the meeting room of the Family Life Center. President Ann Florus called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and led the prayer and pledge of allegiance. The minutes were approved as read by Sheila Brossmann.

The Stanzel Family Foundation continues its commitment to fostering community well-being by providing support to the Colorado County Habitat for Humanity.

Animal Shelter statistics

As of Jan. 26, total intake at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 83 for the year – 40 dogs and 43 cats in need. As of Jan. 26, the shelter had 86 animals in its care – 50 dogs and 36 cats.

Combined CommunityAction’s “Meals on Wheels,” located in the Civic Center, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Please call 979-743-4036 two weeks in advance for the meals, which will be delivered to the homebound or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.
