Animal Shelter statistics

As of March 8, total intake at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 247 for the year – 154 dogs and 93 cats in need. As of March 8, the shelter had 100 animals in its care – 74 dogs and 26 cats.

Stanzel foundation has 3 new board members

GJAS director: stray dogs and cats taken in by animal shelter continue to increase

Editor’s note: The following is from Teresa Stanley-Brown, executive director, Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter. This week at the shelter, we released a very sweet and friendly cat from rabies quarantine (RQ) after a bite incident. She delivered her seven healthy babies while in RQ.

Campaign raises funds for mental health awareness

The Red Door Fund for Mental Health, an initiative launched in 2021 by the Fayette Community Foundation, is proud to announce a successful community response to its third annual campaign, marking a significant milestone in mental health awareness and support within the region.

CCA Meals

CCA’s “Meals on Wheels,” located in the Civic Center, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Please call 979-743-4036 two weeks in advance for the meals, which will be delivered to the homebound or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.
