Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret "Peggy" Mendel, age 71, of St. John will be held Friday, Jan. 19, 2024 at 2 p.m. from the St. John Catholic Church in St. John, Texas. Visitation will begin at noon on Friday at the church with the Parish Rosary to be recited at 1:30 p.m. prior to the Mass.

‘Equipping The Saints’ to be held Feb. 3 in Cuero

2024 marks the 40th anniversary of Equipping The Saints (ETS), sponsored by the Bluebonnet Conference of ELCA congregations. The annual all-day event is being hosted by St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 400 N. Esplanade, Cuero on Saturday, Feb. 3.

Funeral services for Mr. Daniel "Zeke" Vacek, age 74, of Schulenburg will be held Saturdaay, Jan. 13, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. from the St. Rose Catholic Church in Schulenburg, Texas. Visitation will begin after 4 p.m. on Friday at Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home in Schulenburg.
Joe and Roxanne Orsak (center) donated $5,000 to the Schulenburg Area Food Pantry recently. The Orsaks continue to support the Food Pantry and their donations have allowed the pantry to purchase non-perishable food and household items needed to keep the shelves stocked.
