The N.W. Faison House in La Grange will hold its Christmas open house on Saturday, Dec. 2 from noon to 2 p.m. Visitors will be able to tour the house. Admission is free “We are excited to welcome the public,” Arnold Romberg, president of the Faison Preservation Society, said.

The KJT St. Augustine Society No. 129 Schulenburg youth group collected 35 pounds of non-perishable food items for the Schulenburg Area Food Pantry and presented a monetary donation of $500 from the memorial foundation.

As of Nov. 24, total intake at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 1,491 for the year– 685 dogs and 806 cats in need. As of Nov. 24, the shelter had 83 animals in its care – 37 dogs and 46 cats.

CCA Meals

Combined CommunityAction’s “Meals on Wheels,” located in the Civic Center, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Please call 979-743-4036 two weeks in advance for the meals, which will be delivered to the homebound or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.

Deputy Santa program under way thru Dec. 20

This year’s Deputy Santa Program is being conducted from Nov. 20 through Wednesday, Dec. 20, according to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek and the deputies of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. Toys will be handed out to participants at three different locations on Thursday, Dec. 21.

As of Nov. 17, total intake at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 1,476 for the year– 678 dogs and 798 cats in need. As of Nov. 17, the shelter had 88 animals in its care – 38 dogs and 50 cats.
