Combined CommunityAction’s “Meals on Wheels,” located in the Civic Center, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Please call 979-743-4036 two weeks in advance for the meals, which will be delivered to the homebound or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.

Sweet Pea (left) and Earl (right) are looking for their forever homes. Both dogs are around 2 years old. They are people and dog friendly. They have been kennel and leash trained. They would make great dogs only to an active family or even as a friend to a dog that a family already has.

‘Equipping The Saints’ to be held Feb. 3 in Cuero

2024 marks the 40th anniversary of Equipping The Saints (ETS), sponsored by the Bluebonnet Conference of ELCA congregations. The annual all-day event is being hosted by St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 400 N. Esplanade, Cuero on Saturday, Feb. 3.

As of Jan. 12, total intake at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 42 for the year – 18 dogs and 24 cats in need. As of Jan. 12, the shelter had 76 animals in its care – 40 dogs and 36 cats.
