We must all stand with Israel

I Friends, the whole world has watched the unspeakable, demonic horror unleased by Islamic jihadists against our ally, Israel. The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission has put out An Evangelical Statement in Support of Israel. It states what must be done for such evil to be eradicated.

Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter statistics

As of Oct. 13, total intake at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 1,362 for the year– 634 dogs and 728 cats in need. As of Oct. 13, the shelter had 133 animals in its care – 71 dogs and 62 cats.

Sr. Connections: gathering place for active seniors

Senior Connections had over 45 members attend this past Wednesday, Oct. 11, and the organization is also working hard to meet the highest standards of transparency through Guide Star.

SAFP serves 154 families in Sept.

The Schulenburg Area Food Pantry served 154 families in September with a total of 450 individuals. The Pantry had nine new clients with a total of 33 individuals. The total amount of food given out was 7,733 pounds. Food donated was 4,673 pounds. The volunteer hours were 353.

Schulenburg Knights of Columbus Council 2902 recently received the Columbian award from the KC Supreme Organization. The Columbian Award is given to those councils that excel in service to the community and the Catholic Church.

CCA Meals

Combined CommunityAction’s “Meals on Wheels,” located in the Civic Center, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Please call 979-743-4036 two weeks in advance for the meals, which will be delivered to the homebound or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.

Second Chance Emporium in La Grange presented donations totaling $32,800 last week to three area organizations, as follows: •A $20,000 donation went to to the Texas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center Inc. (TCHCC).

Available for adoption from the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter: Rainbow and Venus are two of the youngest dogs at the shelter. Puppies are a challenge, but they are the perfect age to train and introduce to other animals and children.
