Combined CommunityAction’s “Meals on Wheels,” located in the Civic Center, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Please call 979-743-4036 two weeks in advance for the meals, which will be delivered to the homebound or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.

Service set at Dubina for All Souls Day

An All Souls Day service will be held at the Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Cemetery in Dubina on All Souls Day, Thursday, Nov. 2, at 5 p.m. The reading of the names of all the people buried in the cemetery will start at 5 p.m. followed by a Mass at 6 p.m.

St. Rose Altar Society holds meeting on Oct. 16

The St. Rose Altar Society held its monthly meeting on Monday, Oct. 16 in the meeting room of the Family Life Center. PresidentAnn Florus called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and led the prayer and pledge of allegiance. The minutes were read by Sheila Brossmann.

Animal Shelter statistics

The Gardenia E. JanssenAnimal Shelter continues to take in, on average, 32 dogs and cats each week. As of Oct. 20, total intake stood at 1,380 for the year– 640 dogs and 740 cats in need. As of Oct. 20, the shelter had 136 animals in its care – 78 dogs and 58 cats.

God’s Embrace Ministries sets ‘Evening in High Hill’

Tickets for God’s Embrace Ministries’ seventh annual Evening in High Hill are on sale now and all are invited to the event on Friday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. In addition to a dinner and social hour, there will be live and silent auctions featuring a variety of unique items available for bid.
