Schulenburg High School juniors and seniors recently spent the morning at Jordan Ranch near Engle learning about all the aspects of hotel/restaurant management. Students rotated through presentations on housekeeping, lobby/customer service, grounds-keeping, chef duties, food service and recreation.

Colorado Valley Telephone Cooperative Inc. recently awarded $60,000 in scholarships to 12 graduating seniors from seven area high schools. Each student received a $5,000 scholarship. The Cooperative’s Rural Scholarship Fund is derived from money (capital credits, deposits, etc.

Bruns awarded master of arts degree in counseling

Alexandra Bruns graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary on Saturday, May 13 with a Master of Arts in counseling. Bruns is a 2012 graduate of Flatonia High and a 2016 graduate of Texas A&M University.

Navidad Valley CattleWomen recently awarded $12,000 in scholarships to 11 area youth whose futures will impact the beef industry. All applicants were high school seniors from Fayette, Colorado and Lavaca counties with an interest in agriculture.
