Callene Zapalac, Schulenburg High School principal, was selected as a semi-finalist during the preliminary judging of the 2023 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards.
More than 1,900 applications from educators all over Texas were received.

Jordan Ranch hosts hotel/ restaurant management program for SHS students

Schulenburg High School juniors and seniors recently spent the morning at Jordan Ranch near Engle learning about all the aspects of hotel/restaurant management.
Students rotated through presentations on housekeeping, lobby/customer service, grounds-keeping, chef duties, food service and recreation.

Colorado Valley Telephone Cooperative awards $60,000 in scholarships

Colorado Valley Telephone Cooperative Inc. recently awarded $60,000 in scholarships to 12 graduating seniors from seven area high schools.
Each student received a $5,000 scholarship.
The Cooperative’s Rural Scholarship Fund is derived from money (capital credits, deposits, etc.
