St. Rose fourth grade attends annual Ag Day

The fourth grade class at St. Rose of Lima Catholic School travelled to the Fayette County Fairgrounds in La Grange on Tuesday, Oct. 14 for the annual Fayette County Farm Bureau Ag Day. The students participated in hands-on experiences such as petting and learning about farm animals.

Sixteen Fayette County 4-H members competed in the Brazos Valley Livestock Judging Contest on Friday, Oct. 17 in Bryan.Results for the Fayette County 4-H participants, and clubs to which they belong, were:•Junior Maroon Team – Champion junior team.Team members: Abraham McBride.

The students and staff at St. Rose of Lima Catholic School participated in “Pink Out Day” to bring attention to a dreaded disease – breast cancer is one of the leading health crises for women in the United States. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Currently, there is no known cure for breast cancer, and its early diagnosis is critical to survival. Their message is to get mammograms regularly and remind friends and family.
