FFA’ers compete in Kendall County livestock judging

The Schulenburg FFA participated in the Kendall County livestock judging contest on Sunday, Jan. 12 in Comfort. In the senior division, the Schulenburg FFA team placed third overall, second in the cattle division and eighth in the sheep/ goat division.

Koehne on Honor Roll at UHMB

The University of Mary Hardin- Baylor announces that 563 students have been listed on the fall 2024 Provost’s Honor Roll, including Lauren Koehne. To earn this recognition, a student must achieve a 3.85 grade point average or better on a 4.0 scale.

Children’s book author to speak in Weimar

Anyone interested in the possibility of writing a children’s book is invited to be at the Weimar Public Library on Friday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m.

The Schulenburg Secondary Student Council is holding a clothing drive through Friday, Jan. 31. Donations can be placed in “Phill the Box” bins (shown at right). They are located at 521 Shorthorn Drive (in front of the Schulenburg High greenhouse and old gym). Drop off at any time – day or night.

St. Rose Science Club has fun learning experience at Dig World in Katy

The St. Rose Science club spent Monday morning, Dec. 23 at Dig World in Katy. Dig World is a theme park that allows kids to operate bulldozers, skid steers, excavators and lots of other heavy equipment. The group was small because of the holidays but nonetheless lively.

St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in Schulenburg has an exciting building renovation project under way, with a robust plan to repair, replace and remodel facilities first built in 1930.
