FFA livestock judging team places 10th at San Antonio

The Schulenburg FFA livestock judging team participated in the San Antonio Livestock Judging Contest on Sunday, Feb. 25 at the San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo. A total of 194 FFA teams from across the state competed in the contest.

SHS one-act play public performance set Mar. 3

The Schulenburg High one-act play cast and crew will present their play, “Sylvia” by A.R, Gurney, in a dress rehearsal on Sunday, March 3 at 7 p.m. in the Schulenburg ISD cafeteria. There will be no attendance entry fee charge, but all donations will be gratefully accepted.

FFA’ers enter ag mech show at San Antonio

The San Antonio ag mechanics show was held on Saturday, Feb. 24 at the 2024 San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo. Schulenburg FFAmembers Ethan Steinhuaser and Bryce Stoever exhibited a 24-foot gooseneck lowboy trailer and placed second in the Gooseneck Lowboy Trailer Class.

Fayette 4-H’ers judge livestock at San Angelo

Eleven Fayette County 4-H members competed in the San Angelo Livestock Judging Contest on Saturday, Feb. 17. Results for the Fayette County 4-H participants, and clubs to which they belong, were: •Junior Green Team – Champion junior team. Team members: Abraham McBride.

SES to host Book Fair

Schulenburg Elementary School will host its annual Scholastic Book Fair from Monday, March 4 through Friday, March 8. Parents, grandparents and community members are invited to visit the Book Fair during this special week! The Book Fair will be open as follows: •Monday, March 4 – 5 to 7 p.m.

UIL committee hears 11 appeals on realignment

The District Assignment Appeals Committee of the University Interscholastic League heard 11 appeals regarding reclassification and realignment on Tuesday, Feb. 20. The committee, composed of UILLegislative Council members, heard testimony from all interested parties regarding each appeal.

Fourteen Fayette County 4-H members competed in the San Antonio Livestock Show Consumer Decision Making Judging Contest on Saturday, Feb. 17 at the San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo. The Fayette County 4-H senior team placed third overall.
