Fayette 4-H’ers compete in Food Challenge at San Antonio show

Six Fayette County 4-H members competed in the San Antonio Livestock Show Food Challenge contest held on Thursday, Feb. 8 at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. This year had the largest San Antonio Livestock Show Food Challenge contest to date with over 100 participants.

Farm Bureau scholarships

The Swiss Alp /Ammannsville/ Dubina Farm Bureau will again award scholarships to seniors from area high schools. The scholarships may be used at any accredited university, college or vocational school. Scholarship applications may be obtained by contacting counselors at the schools.

FCF offers scholarships

The Fayette Community Foundation (FCF) is now accepting applications for its 2024 scholarships, with a deadline of Monday, April 1. All seniors graduating from public, private and homeschool programs within an 80-mile radius of La Grange are encouraged to apply.

Multi-County Child Care Conference held

A total of 217 childcare providers from more than 14 surrounding cities registered to attend the Coastal Bend Multi-County Child Care Conference sponsored by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service on Saturday, Feb. 3 at the Randolph Recreation Center in La Grange.

Fayette Savings Bank (FSB) proudly presented a check to St. Rose Catholic School in Schulenburg from its School Spirit Debit Card Program. FSB customers who chose to have the Cardinal debit card contribute toward the program indirectly.

Cooper Mau, a senior at Fayetteville ISD and president of the Fayette County 4-H, had an outstanding week at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo. He won a $16,000 scholarship by emerging victorious in the Beef Heifer Superintendent Challenge.
