Lauren Koehne named to UHMB Provost’s Honor Roll

The University of Mary Hardin- Baylor announces that 593 students have been listed on the Provost’s Honor Roll for fall 2023, including Lauren Koehne. To receive this recognition, a student must achieve a 3.85 grade point average (GPA) or better on a 4.0 scale.

Fayette County 4-H’ers do well at Karnes County Livestock Judging Contest

Twenty-two Fayette County 4-H members competed in the Karnes County Livestock Judging Contest at Karnes City on Saturday, Jan. 27. Results for the Fayette County 4-H participants, and clubs to which they belong, were as follows: •Junior Maroon Team – Reserve champion junior team.

Turtle Wing Toast set at Sengelmann Hall

The Turtle Wing Foundation’s annual Toast event is slated for Thursday, Jan. 25 at Sengelmann Hall in Schulenburg. Doors will open and cocktail hour will begin at 6 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. The program will begin at 7 p.m.

Scholarships available thru St. Rose CDA Court

Scholarships are available from the Catholic Daughters at the local and state levels. The Texas State Court sponsors the Memorial Scholarship. Those eligible to apply are graduating seniors in accredited high schools who are related to living CDA members in good standing.
