St. Rose 6th grade visits Czech Heritage & Cultural Center

The St. Rose of Lima Catholic School sixth graders had an educational day visiting the Texas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center in La Grange on Tuesday, Nov. 28. The day began in the new church just established on the grounds.

Derik and Colleen Kubenka of Moravia proudly announce the arrival of their second child, a baby boy, Carson Joe. Carson made his debut on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 5:46 pm at Gonzales Memorial Hospital in Gonzales. He weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces and measured 21 inches in length.

St. Rose students take part in Christ the King procession

Fr. Jasper Liggio and the eighth grade class led the St. Rose of Lima Catholic School student body in a beautiful traditional Christ the King procession and prayer service on Friday, Nov. 17. Fr. Liggio spoke to students and staff afterward.

BGC makes Thanksgiving cards for College Place residents

Last week, Members of the Schulenburg Unit of the Boys & Girls Club members enjoyed making Thanksgiving cards for residents at College Place Assisted Living in Schulenburg.

Briana Adams (right) was joined by Marley Vasek (left) for a performance at Holman Valley Steakhouse that raised funds for three animal welfare organizations in the area. Adams is a singer/songwriter who grew up in Winchester and has been touring all over Texas for the past 12 years.

A wonderful evening of fun, talent and raising funds for three nonprofits was enjoyed on Saturday, Nov. 11 at Holman Valley Steakhouse. This all came about when Marley Vasek had an idea for her 10th birthday that is somewhat unusual for a young lady of her age.
