St. Rose of Lima Catholic School students and families celebrated veterans at a Mass and reception on Thursday, Nov. 9 The Liturgy was dedicated to all veterans. Students prepared the liturgy, sang and took part in a special Patriotic Prayer Service.

NVCW offering collegiate scholarship

Navidad Valley CattleWomen (NVCW) have expanded their scholarship program, thanks to a donation of Cody Johnson concert tickets last spring from a very generous donor. The proceeds received from auctioning the tickets have been designated to assist with piloting a collegiate scholarship program.
Students at St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in Schulenburg celebrated the All Saints Day Mass on Wednesday, Nov. 1. All students were encouraged to dress as a saint or a profession represented by a patron saint. Fr. Alex Aboagye reminded everyone that saints were people like them who did what God asked. The junior high students also participated in the All Souls Day Mass on Thursday, Nov. 2 and went to the cemetery with Fr. Jasper Liggio, Fr. Luke Prihoda and Fr. Alex Aboagye.

Fayette County 4-H Food Challenge winners named

Seventeen junior and intermediate Fayette County 4-H Food Challenge teams competed in the Fayette County 4-H Food Challenge. In the junior division, 11 teams competed The Beefmasters won grand champion junior team.

Shorthorns Forever awards $3,960.36 in grants

The Shorthorns Forever Association voted to award another round of grants to Schulenburg ISD teachers in October. A total of $3,960.36 was given at this time to help further the education of students.
