Texans asked to conserve energy in heat wave The agency that operates the power grid for much of the state asked Texans to conserve energy use several times last week as the grid was beset with high demand and low wind-power generation, according to the Austin American- Statesman.

Deputy rescues lady, dog from burning house

A 911 call reporting a structure fire, with someone still in the house who could not get out, was received by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, Aug. 16 around 9:38 p.m., according to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek.

Driver tries to discard drugs during traffic stop by deputy near Flatonia

A traffic stop in the Flatonia area resulted in a drug arrest on Friday, Aug. 18, according to a report from the Fayette County Sheriff's Office. At approximately 9:45 p.m., Deputy Cody Williams made the traffic stop on a vehicle for an infraction.

Meth located during traffic stop Aug. 21 near La Grange

In the early morning hours of Monday, Aug. 21, Deputy Wesly Arrison initiated a traffic stop on Highway 71 in the La Grange area for a traffic violation, according to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek.
