Gary Borders Speaker Open To Resort-style Casinos In State

Speaker open to resort-style casinos in state House Speaker Dade Phelan, R-Beaumont, told The Dallas Morning News and other media outlets that he is open to bringing resort-style casinos to Texas. But don’t expect to find slot machines in 7-Eleven stores if casino gambling is legalized.

On Tuesday, Jan. 3, the Fayette County Narcotics Unit, with the aid of Investigator David Smith, assisted the La Grange Police Department in solving a theft case from a business in La Grange, according to Sheriff Keith Korenek.

Coyote control contest being held thru April 28

The Fayette County spring coyote control program got under way on Jan. 2 and will continue through April 28. The contest is being held to give landowners, producers and sportsmen an opportunity to assist in the control of coyotes in Fayette County.
