Sober driving reminder for Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving holiday, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) are teaming up with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s “Watch UR BAC” program to help make sure people make it to the Thanksgiving table.

FSA County Committee ballots mailed

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has started mailing ballots for the Farm Service Agency (FSA) county committee elections to eligible farmers and ranchers across the country. To be counted, ballots must be returned to the Fayette/Lee County FSAoffice or postmarked by Monday, Dec. 5.

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports that officers responded to 119 calls for service and eight reportable incidents were investigated during the week of Nov. 5-11.

Early voting by personal appearance in the General Election began on Tuesday, Oct. 24 and continued through Friday, Nov. 4. All early voting in Fayette County was held in the at the Elections Office, 275 Ellinger Road, Suite A, La Grange. Mail-in ballots were due at the Elections Office by 7 p.m.
