November sales tax allocations total $1.1 billion

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced on Wednesday, Nov. 9 that he was sending cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for November, 7.1 percent more than in November 2021.

New landowner program to focus on bees, trees

The last program in the 2022 multi-county new landowner series will take place on Friday, Nov. 18 at the Blinn College Rankin Ag Complex located at 1409 Old Mill Creek Road, Brenham. Topics to be covered are “Beekeeping Basics” and “Trees for Texas and Landowners.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has started mailing ballots for the Farm Service Agency (FSA) county committee elections to eligible farmers and ranchers across the country. To be counted, ballots must be returned to the Fayette/Lee County FSAoffice or postmarked by Monday, Dec. 5.
