The Fayette County Commissioners Court signed a proclamation declaring Oct. 6 as German American Day in Fayette County at the meeting held on Thursday, Sept. 26. It states that Americans of German descent constitute the largest ethnic group in the U.S.

In observance of Constitution Day, Tuesday, Sept. 17, and Constitution Week 2024, the Smith McMillan Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, hosted a “ringing of the bells” ceremony along with a proclamation-signing.
The Schulenburg Young Farmers held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at the Schulenburg Expo Center. Chairman for the meeting was Frank Wick Jr. (center) and guest speakers were Laura Sherrod (left), wildlife biologist for Texas Parks & Wildlife for Lee County, and Drake Rangel (right), wildlife biologist for Texas Parks & Wildlife for Fayette County. The next monthly meeting will be held Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. at the Schulenburg Expo Center.
