Funeral services for Carmen Bigham, age 83, of Schulenburg will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026 from St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Schulenburg.Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kerrville, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Ken.

Bishop Cahill appointed to serve in Joliet, Illinois

Most Rev. Brendan J. Cahill, Bishop of the Diocese of Victoria, has been appointed as the Bishop of Joliet in Illinois.The appointment, made by Pope Leo XIV, was announced in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 17 by Archbishop Gabriele Caccia, apostolic nuncio to the United States.
