Lady Horns sweep doubleheader, face Charlotte in bi-district series

With 17-2 finals in both games of a doubleheader against Louise last Tuesday, the Lady Horns closed out the regular season at 6-6 in District 29-2A and 14-11 overall. Schulenburg, as the fourth-place team in 29-2A behind Shiner, Ganado, and Weimar, will face Charlotte in bi-district. The bestof- three series was scheduled for Marion High School as follows: (Game 1) Thursday, April 25 at 6:30 p.m.; (Game 2) Friday, April 26 at 8 p.m.; (Game 3, if necessary) Saturday,April 27 at noon. Shorthorns get back to .500 in district with 12-1 win over Bobcats on Friday

After giving up five unearned runs in a 6-1 loss to Shiner last week, the Shorthorns bounced back to run-rule Bloomington and improve to 5-5 in District 29-2A. Schulenburg, at 12-11 on the season, had two district games left in the regular season – at home against Louise (April 18) and at Ganado (April 22).

After an early deficit on the road Friday, the Lady Horns defeated Bloomington 11-3 to improve to 4-6 in District 29-2A and 12-11 on the season. Schulenburg still had the inside track on the fourth and final playoff spot in 29-2A heading into the regular-season finale.
