The Lone Star State’s seasonally- adjusted civilian labor force reached a new record high of 15,162,100 after growing by 20,900 in October while Texas’ seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate held steady at 4.1 percent, according to the Texas Workforce Commission.

Schulenburg will celebrate its 150th birthday on Saturday, Dec. 2 downtown on North Main Street at Upton Ave. Food and drinks, along with souvenir items, will be available throughout the afternoon and evening. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the Wolters Park Pavilion.

Lady Horn senior Kieryn Adams picks up a dig in the fourth set of the Class 2A state semifinal match last Wednesday, Nov. 15 in Garland. Her four-game total of 41 digs set a state tournament record over all classifications. In addition, she was named to the 2A all-tournament team.
