County’s ’24 proposed budget approved 3-2

The 2024 proposed Fayette County budget was approved by a 3-2 vote at the regular meeting of the Fayette County Commissioners Court on Thursday, Aug. 10. County Judge Dan Mueller made a motion for approval of the budget, which had a deadline of Aug. 15 be filed at the County Clerk’s Office.

SPD makes theft, intoxication arrests on Aug. 9

Two separate incidents on Wednesday, Aug. 9 led to the arrest of six individuals by the Schulenburg Police Department. At approximately 7:30 p.m., officers received notification that a theft occurred at The Texan convenience store/truck stop at the intersection of Interstate 10 and Highway 77.

Hahn answers questions about COVID increase

Angela Hahn, Fayette County emergency management coordinator, reports that her office has received a number of questions about a perceived increase in COVID cases in Fayette County. According to Hahn, as of July 31, the county had seen some increase, but did not have a serious case reported.
