In a press release issued last week, the Texas A&M Forest Service warned of increased wildfire danger as high temperatures and dry conditions continue to impact the state.

Anytime Fitness in Schulenburg was recently awarded with the status of Club Purple by Anytime Fitness Corporate franchise and its founders Chuck Runyon and Dave Mortensen. This particular status is only given to the Top 500 Anytime Fitness clubs out of over 2,500 in the United States and Canada.

An even distribution of radios paid for by Fayette County to 10 volunteer fire departments was approved by the Commissioners Court at its meeting on Thursday, July 27. Precinct 4 Commissioner Drew Brossmann, who also serves as the first assistant chief of the Schulenburg VFD, brought up the matter.

Young Farmers hay show entry deadline is Aug. 12

The Schulenburg Young Farmers will hold their 56th annual Hay Show on Wednesday, Aug. 30 and Thursday, Aug. 31 in conjunction with the Fayette County Fair in La Grange. Judging will take place at 1 p.m. on Aug. 30 at the Emily Fritsch Pavilion at the Fairgrounds. The hay sale will begin at 8 p.m.
