FCF administers $40,000 grant for EMS station

The Fayette Community Foundation announce last week that it administered a $40,000 designated grant on behalf of an anonymous donor to the Fayette County EMS on Wednesday, April 12.

Elections for City & SISD this Saturday

The joint elections for the City of Schulenburg and Schulenburg ISD will be held on Saturday, May 6 at the Schulenburg Public Library, 310 Simpson St. The polling site will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The language on the ballot and order of candidates follow.

The Sticker placed in six of the nine categories it entered in the South Texas Press Association’s Better Newspaper Contest. Winners were announced at the STPA’s annual convention, held April 20-22 in Boerne. The contest, with entries from 2022, included three divisions and 15 categories.

Five candidates vying for three seats on SISD Board of Trustees

The Sticker posed a set of questions to the five candidates who are running for three at-large positions on the Schulenburg ISD Board of Trustees in an effort to help voters make their decision. Terms are for three years. The field includes one incumbent – Jarrod “Buck” Schramek.

U.S. marshals make arrest after stand-off

An hour-long stand-off in the northwest part of town ended without incident last Thursday, April 20. The U.S. Marshals Service located a fugitive at a residence on Russek Street shortly before noon and were able to take him into custody.
