Police Assn. sponsoring kids’ fishing tournament

The Schulenburg Police Association will be hosting its first “Pond Patrol” kids fishing tournament this Saturday, May 2.The event will take place at the Schulenburg Sports Complex pond from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Youngsters ages 5 to 12 are invited to participate. The entry fee is $20.

The Texas Workforce Commission released labor market statistics for February and they showed that the statewide seasonally- adjusted unemployment stayed at 4.3 percent for the third straight month.Fayette County’s rate (not seasonally adjusted) decreased 0.

City, SISD elections set for this Saturday

The joint election for the City of Schulenburg and Schulenburg ISD will be held this Saturday, May 2.Votes may be cast at the Schulenburg Public Library,310 Simpson St., from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The language on the ballot(s) follows along with the instructions, which will appear in English and Spanish.
