Filing for local seats under way

The deadline to file as a candidate in the City of Schulenburg or Schulenburg ISD election is Friday, Feb. 13 at 5 p.m.Anyone wanting to run for City Council can pick up a candidate packet at City Hall, 605 Upton Ave. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

SVFD responds to two house fires last week

No injuries were reported from a pair of structure fires in town in a span of four days.The Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the 1000 block of BohlmannAvenue at 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
