LG hospital may open this spring

The hospital known as St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange closed its doors in October of 2023 due to financial strains but efforts have continued to get it reopened.

Road to close for bridge replacement

Fayette County Precinct 4 Commissioner Drew Brossmann would like to inform the public that, starting on Monday, Jan. 26, the bridge on Foster Creek Road (which runs from the north Interstate 10 frontage to FM 2672) at Fosters Creek will be closed for replacement.

SA man arrested by SPD for vehicle theft

On Monday, Jan. 19 at approximately 2:32 p.m., the Schulenburg Police Department was alerted to a stolen Cadillac CTS traveling eastbound on Interstate 10.At around 3:35 p.m., SPD officers observed the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop near mile marker 673.

City Council awards bid to upgrade sewer plant

On the recommendation of staff, the Schulenburg City Council voted unanimously at last week’s meeting to award the bid for upgrades at Kallus Sewer Plant to Stormwater Professionals Group for $148,999.
