The Schulenburg Police Department made two arrests in separate traffic stops over the weekend after drugs and weapons were found. On Saturday, Dec. 3 at 12:38 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of Paulus Street for a traffic violation.

An agreement was approved 7-0 by the Schulenburg ISD Board of Trustees at a special meeting Friday, Dec. 2 allowing Duane Limbaugh to resign. In his fourth year as SISD superintendent, Limbaugh was named the lone finalist for the same position at White Deer ISD in November.

Limbaugh named lone finalist for supt. job in White Deer

In his fourth year as Schulenburg ISD’s superintendent, Duane Limbaugh publicly announced at Monday night’s Board of Trustees meeting that he plans to take the same position at White Deer ISD. Family circumstances played a major part in choosing to make the move, he said.

Fayette County sees slight increase from September The Texas seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate remained at 4.0 percent in October, the lowest level since the February 2020 pre-pandemic rate of 3.5 percent, according to the Texas Workforce Commission.
