Warrants were obtained Monday afternoon for two males from Rosenberg wanted in connection with shooting incidents that occurred in and near Schulenburg on Friday, July 29. No injuries were reported but vehicles sustained gunshot damage, according to Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek.

Disturbance call in Swiss Alp area ends up in arrest for drugs, gun

Deputy Duane Meagher was dispatched to a residence off Lidiak Road in the Swiss Alp area for a disturbance on Wednesday, July 20 at around 12:14 a.m., according to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek. Deputies Dustin Kieschnick, A.J. Gonzales, and Seth Nagel responded to assist.

The Keetch-Byram Drought Index for the Fayette County reached 719 within the past week, Emergency Management Coordinator Craig Moreau noted in a press release on July 25. KBDI values from 600-800 are often associated with severe drought.
