SISD’s athletic handbook discussed

Schulenburg ISD’s Board of Trustees got clarification on a few items in the athletic handbook at its meeting Monday, July 25. The issue of enforcing the rule on boys’ hair length was brought up last month, when Athletic Director Walt Brock was not present at the meeting.

Local first responders have busy Sunday

Accidents on Interstate 10 near Schulenburg kept law enforcement, firefighters, and EMS occupied this past Sunday, July 17 while inundating the town with traffic. The chaos followed a traffic stop by the Schulenburg Police Department on I-10 eastbound just east of the Highway 77 overpass.

Security cameras at The Texan caught two individuals making off the $16,000 worth of tobacco products from behind the cashier counter at approximately 2:10 a.m. on Friday, July 8. The Schulenburg Police Department asks that anyone who can identify the suspects, call the SPD office at 979-743-2677.
