Two arrested for drugs, local man picked up for violation of probation

A man from Houston and another from Inez were arrested by the Schulenburg Police Department on drug charges over the weekend while a local man was apprehended on a warrant for violating his probation.

Bridge work on Holub Rd. starts Oct. 17

Fayette County Precinct 4 Commissioner Drew Brossmann reported that the bridge on Holub Road over Middle Creek will be closed starting on Monday, Oct. 17. The structure will be replaced as part of a Texas Department of Transportation Bridge Grant project.

SPD makes three arrests

The Schulenburg Police Department reported on two arrests over the weekend and one last week. On Monday, Sept. 26 at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers made contact with 29-year-old Kenneth Weems of Weimar.

Schulenburg ISD band does well at Seguin Marching Festival

The Pride of Schulenburg Marching Band competed at the Seguin Marching Festival on Saturday, Oct. 2 and received second place in Class 2A and scored higher than all of the bands in Class 3A as well.
