The project of making 1,300 cards for veterans at the nine Texas State Veterans Homes has been completed by Liberty Killion working in conjunction with Boys & Girls Club members and staff. The final two sessions were held on Monday, May 2, when cards were made for the William R.

The Republican nominee for Fayette County judge was decided in the Runoff Election on Tuesday, May 24. Dan Mueller with 2,713 votes was the winner over Craig Moreau with 2,169 votes. The incumbent Fayette County judge, Joe Weber, chose not to seek re-election.

Contractor selected for EMS Station 4 building

The Fayette County Commissioners Court selected a contractor for the new EMS Station 4 building in Schulenburg at its meeting on Thursday, May 26. The bid was awarded to Otto Construction of College Station for $596,875 after the recommendation of EMS Director Josh Vandever.

Unemployment rate decreases 0.1 percent statewide & in Fayette County

In April, the seasonally-adjusted Texas unemployment rate was 4.3 percent, a decrease of 0.1 percentage points from March 2022, according to the latest figures from the Texas Workforce Commission. Fayette County’s rate (not seasonally adjusted) also dropped one-tenth of a percent, from 3.
