Burn ban enacted for Fayette County

The Fayette County Commissioners Court decided to place a ban on all outdoor burning effective immediately at its meeting on Thursday, June 9. It was stated that the majority of the county volunteer fire department chiefs were in favor of a burn ban due to the ongoing dry conditions.

On Tuesday, May 24, American Legion McBride Post 143, Sons of the American Legion Squadron 143, Legion Riders and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 870 came together to place flags on deceased veterans’ graves in the area to honor them for Memorial Day.
