In-home tests now available

Fayette County officials have ramped up their defense to the coronavirus by offering free inhome testing beginning Nov. 16. Funding provided by a private grant will allow residents to be tested for COVID-19 without having to leave their homes.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics K-9 Unit seized 78.5 kilos of cocaine during a traffic stop on Interstate 10 near Engle on Friday, Nov. 13, according to Sheriff Keith Korenek. Sheriff Korenek reported that at approximately 10:56 a.m., the Narcotics K-9 Unit, with Sgt.

Clarence Ahlschlager Jr. was elected as Place 4 alderman on the Schulenburg City Council, defeating incumbent Geoffrey Schiffli by 191 votes. The election was held on Nov. 3, postponed from the normal May date due to the pandemic.

The Fayette County Narcotics K-9 Unit seized 18.5 pounds of raw Fentanyl during a traffic stop on Interstate 10 about three miles west of Flatonia on Tuesday, Nov. 3, according to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek. Sheriff Korenek reported that at approximately 1:09 p.m.
