St. Rose holds groundbreaking for $5 million renovation project

Ceremonial shovels broke ground in front of St. Rose of Lima Catholic School on Thursday, May 8 to mark the start of a $5 million renovation although planning and fund-raising efforts for the project have been ongoing for over three years.

Lee Hafley officially named superintendent

The Schulenburg ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously at its special meeting on Thursday, May 1 to name Lee Hafley as superintendent.The action followed the required 21-day waiting period after he was named lone finalist on April 9. Hafley began his full-time duties on Monday, May 5.

Current officials reelected

All five incumbents in the City of Schulenburg and Schulenburg ISD elections, held Saturday, May 3, were reelected to their respective offices.
