The local lodge of Hermann Sons Life presented its “Humanitarian Award” for 2024 to Kenneth R. Behlen.A member of Schulenburg Knights of Columbus, Behlen cooks for monthly meetings and drive-through meals. He also volunteers weekly at the Schulenburg Area Food Pantry.

Da’Terrion Houston goes over a Ricebird to get to a loose ball in the Shorthorns’ first game of the Schulenburg Tournament on Friday morning. The Horns fell to Class 4A El Campo as well as 4A Sealy but defeated two 3A opponents, Hempstead and Yoakum.
