Bust made for gun, marijuana

On Monday, Nov. 25 at approximately 1:16 p.m., officers with the Schulenburg Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the Shorthorn Express parking lot off Kessler Avenue (Highway 77).

A 9mm Beretta handgun and an AM-15 rifle were retrieved during the incident in which the suspect pointed the handgun at a deputy.
Standoff in Kirtley area ends peacefully with arrest

A standoff between law enforcement and a male subject on Wednesday, Nov. 20 in the Kirtley area in western Fayette County ended with the subject surrendering, according to a press release from Sheriff Keith Korenek.

Max price for Performing Arts Center approved by SISD Board of Trustees

The gross maximum price for Schulenburg ISD’s Performing Arts Center was unanimously approved by the Board of Trustees at its meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 19.Prior to the vote, Clayton Collier of Collier Construction went over the figures. He said that close to 200 bids were received.
